Assessment of Motor and Process Skills (AMPS) - Install Software

AMPS 2005 (Last Updated November 3, 2008)

AMPS 2005 has been replaced by the next generation of AMPS Computer-scoring Software, Version 9. AMPS Project International recommends that all AMPS raters remain current with their AMPS materials and upgrade to AMPS 9. Review the AMPS Upgrade Policy for more information.

Download AMPS 2005 Installer Now!

This download will create a new installation of the AMPS computer-scoring software Version 2005 (AMPS 2005) on your computer, network drive, or USB FLash Drive. If you have already installed AMPS 2005 and wish to update your existing installation, do not use this installer. Instead, update an existing installation of AMPS 2005, by visiting the Update Software.

Detailed Download and Installation Instructions

  1. When you click the download link above, you will be given a security warning.


  2. Save the file, InstallAMPS2005.exe, to a location on your computer where you can find it later.


  3. Run the installer from a computer on which you are the administrator. Windows Vista and Windows 7 users may also need to use the 'Run as Administrator' function to run InstallAMPS2005.exe. Please contact your system administrator if you have questions about permissions to install programs.
       

  4. Follow on-screen instructions to complete the installation procedure.


  5. Select a location from which you run the program. The default location is C:\ - the root directory of your harddrive. However, the program may be installed to any directory in which you have full read/write permission, including your own removable USB Flash Drive.


  6. Ensure that the box is checked to create a desktop icon.


  7. Click Finish.


  8. OPTIONAL: Depending on the security settings of your computer, your computer administrator may need to grant read/write permission to the directory in which the AMPS software is installed.

  9. Launch AMPS 2005 by clicking the desktop icon you created in Step 6 above.


  10. Select the language you prefer to work in. You may change your default langauge later to English, Swedish, Spanish, Dutch, Danish, Italian, and German.


  11. Select your preferred date format and click OK. You may change your default date format later to one of three options:
    • MM/DD/YYYY (Month / Day / Year)
    • DD/MM/YYYY (Day / Month / Year)
    • YYYY/MM/DD (Year / Month / Day)


  12. Enter your name exactly as you would like it to appear on reports.
    Enter AMPS 2005 passcode two times.

    KEEP YOUR PASSCODE CONFIDENTIAL
    Allowing others to use your passcode is a violation of national and international client confidentiality laws.

  13. If you have a calibration code, enter it now..
