Learn how to submit new task data

There are currently 25 calibrated schoolwork tasks standardized for use with the School AMPS. A School AMPS evaluation involves observing each student perform two school tasks assigned by the classroom teacher (e.g., cutting, pasting, drawing, coloring, writing, computer and math manipulative tasks).

AMPS Project International continually works to standardize and calibrate new School AMPS tasks. Raters are encouraged to use new, non-calibrated School AMPS tasks during rater calibration in order to facilitate their standardization. Raters who already are calibrated may use new, non-calibrated School AMPS tasks, but will need to score the student doing at least two other School AMPS tasks to be able to generate Graphic Reports. Calibrated raters interested in contributing to the standardization of new, non-calibrated School AMPS tasks may follow the guidelines on How to Submit New Task Data.

How to Submit New Task Data

Please use these instructions if you are a calibrated School AMPS rater and wish to submit new task data to AMPS Project International. If you are in the process of calibrating, please refer to the instructions for using new tasks in your course handouts.

  1. Raters must test students performing at least one, preferably two old School AMPS tasks AND one of the new tasks.
  2. All tasks (old and new) must be of appropriate challenge, not too easy.
  3. Enter old task(s) in the software as normal.
  4. Enter scores for new, noncalibrated School AMPS tasks using Task Code: X-00: New, noncalibrated School AMPS task from the task selection menu in the School AMPS software.
  5. Enter task number and task name (In English) when directed to do so by the School AMPS software.
  6. Export data (as one does for rater calibration; see course handouts for details).
  7. Submit using the Rater Calibration Center. Once you have logged into the Rater Calibration Center please select 'Research Data: NOT for rater calibration' as your country.
